EPE is seeking a System Administrator II to serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for the administration, security, reliability, and continuous improvement of the organization's infrastructure, cloud platforms, identity services, endpoint management systems, and business-critical technologies. This role independently leads technical initiatives, resolves complex operational challenges, drives automation and process improvements, mentors junior staff, and serves as a key resource for infrastructure modernization, acquisitions, office expansions, and strategic technology deployments.

Responsibilities

How you can make an impact:

Infrastructure, Cloud & Systems Administration

  • Administer and optimize enterprise infrastructure including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, server platforms, virtualization environments, endpoint management systems, and cloud services.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts for complex infrastructure, identity, networking, security, and application issues.
  • Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, lifecycle management activities, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Evaluate infrastructure performance, capacity, resiliency, and operational risks while recommending improvements aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain standards, configurations, and operational processes that improve reliability and scalability.

 

Security, Identity & Compliance

  • Implement, manage, and continuously improve security controls across cloud, endpoint, identity, and infrastructure environments.
  • Administer identity governance, conditional access, privileged access, MFA, passkeys, and endpoint compliance solutions.
  • Lead vulnerability remediation and security hardening initiatives while ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
  • Support audit readiness, compliance programs, evidence collection, and implementation of operational controls.
  • Investigate security events and provide technical leadership during incident response and recovery efforts.

 

Acquisition Integration, Office Expansion & Technology Deployment

  • Lead technical assessments for acquisitions, office expansions, office relocations, and new office buildouts, evaluating infrastructure, security, networking, cloud services, business applications, and operational processes.
  • Identify technical, security, compliance, operational, and business continuity risks and develop actionable integration strategies.
  • Design and execute integration plans for Microsoft 365, identity services, endpoint management, networking, telecommunications, SaaS platforms, and infrastructure systems.
  • Serve as technical lead for acquisition and deployment projects, coordinating stakeholders, vendors, facilities teams, construction partners, and third-party providers.
  • Assess multiple solution paths and recommend approaches that balance security, compliance, scalability, cost, user experience, and long-term supportability.
  • Develop implementation plans, migration strategies, project timelines, and success criteria while proactively managing risks, dependencies, and constraints.
  • Communicate project status, technical challenges, milestones, and remediation plans to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Adjust implementation strategies when business requirements, technical limitations, or newly discovered conditions require an alternative approach.

 

Network, Recovery & Operational Resilience

  • Support enterprise networking technologies including firewalls, VPNs, wireless infrastructure, connectivity services, and cloud-integrated networking.
  • Lead disaster recovery testing, restoration activities, and resiliency improvement initiatives.
  • Administer backup and recovery platforms while validating recoverability of critical systems and services.
  • Support infrastructure readiness for growth, acquisitions, cloud adoption, and evolving business requirements.

 

Project Leadership, Automation & Process Improvement

  • Lead infrastructure, cloud, endpoint, security, and workplace technology projects from planning through implementation.
  • Design and implement automation, scripting, and process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, consistency, and operational maturity.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operational risk, improve user experience, and optimize service delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations that support business growth and long-term technology strategy.

 

Technical Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Serve as a Tier 3 escalation resource and mentor for Help Desk and System Administrator I personnel.
  • Provide technical leadership during major incidents, critical changes, and high-impact operational activities.
  • Promote adherence to change management, incident management, problem management, and operational governance standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and operational knowledge resources.
  • Contribute to workforce development through mentoring, knowledge transfer, and technical coaching.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, cloud administration, or enterprise IT operations.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and endpoint management technologies.
  • Experience administering Windows Server, virtualization, cloud services, and enterprise infrastructure platforms.
  • Strong understanding of networking, cybersecurity, identity management, disaster recovery, and operational best practices.
  • Proven ability to independently lead technical projects and drive successful outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

 

Preferred

  • Experience supporting acquisitions, mergers, office expansions, office buildouts, or large-scale technology integration initiatives.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender, Purview, Azure, Fortinet, Cisco, and enterprise security technologies.
  • Experience with PowerShell, automation platforms, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks.

Location: This position will be located in Panama City, Panama
