Overview

We are designing the grid of the future! 

Support the development and execution of computer modeling and analysis for transmission planning studies, including steady-state, short circuit, and dynamic stability analyses, under the guidance of senior engineers.  Gain hands-on exposure to a broad range of study types, including near-term and long-term transmission planning, generator interconnection (GI) studies, reliability-driven project alternatives development, and NERC standards compliance analyses

Responsibilities

How you can make an impact:

  • Perform bulk power system studies using industry-standard software platforms including PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA, including steady-state, short circuit, and dynamic & transient stability analyses
  • Support advanced and specialized grid studies such as Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) analyses, and contribute to the development of mitigation plans for identified system constraints and reliability issues
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned project tasks in alignment with quality standards and budget objectives
  • Participate in client meetings and communications to gather project inputs and help address questions or concerns related to ongoing studies
  • Work alongside senior engineers to develop skills in leading and mentoring peers across power system analysis workflows
  • Support the review and development of transmission planning study methodologies and contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing team efficiency
  • Assist senior staff with business development activities, including proposal preparation, technical write-ups, and presentations

  • Holds high personal standards for quality, taking ownership and pride in all reports and work products delivered
  • Strong technical and report writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-structured, and professional engineering deliverables

Location: This position will be open to remote US or Canada

Travel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
