The Business Development & Marketing Operations Associate supports both the strategic growth of client accounts and the operational backbone of our Business Development and Marketing functions. This role blends relationship management, CRM ownership, lead processing, and market research.

 

We are seeking a motivated professional who can implement an effective sales approach that expands our reach with existing customers, while collaborating closely with the extended BD team to propose new business ideas. The ideal candidate strengthens client relationships, drives growth, and reviews market trends to support long-term company success.

 

This position is well-suited for someone early in their career with a business, marketing, or analytics background who is eager to grow into a hybrid BD/Marketing operations role.

Responsibilities

How you can make an impact:

Business Development & Client Growth

  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with clients and support long-term account growth.
  • Actively sell EPE services to new prospective customers.
  • Conduct high-level industry and market research to identify opportunities and develop effective sales solutions.
  • Participate in collaborative business meetings and provide updates to key stakeholders.
  • Operate in coordination with the Line of Business (LOB) Leader and Sr. BD Manager on all customer account matters.
  • Obtain relevant customer information (org charts, strategic plans, competitor impacts, service plans, etc.).
  • Understand contract requirements and ensure EPE compliance.
  • Address customer issues promptly and professionally.
  • Manage BD goals and provide accurate BD and revenue forecast updates throughout the year.
  • Support the Operations Team with proposal management and writing efforts.

 

CRM, Lead Management & Marketing Operations

  • Manage Salesforce, customer pipeline, and open orders to ensure data accuracy and visibility.
  • Review inbound HubSpot leads, apply qualification criteria, and advance MQLs to SQLs.
  • Ensure timely routing of qualified leads to the appropriate BD representatives.
  • Monitor HubSpot dashboards, form submissions, and lead activity.
  • Serve as the internal expert for HubSpot communications related to events, campaigns, and webinars.
  • Manage and continuously improve the lead flow process between HubSpot and Salesforce.
  • Build and pull Salesforce reports to support marketing materials and BD insights.
  • Assist with Salesforce maintenance, including monitoring requests

 

Qualifications

Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Development Associate, Account Manager, or similar role
  • Experience managing Salesforce; HubSpot experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of business development, sales growth techniques, and account management principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM platforms.
  • Skilled in developing PowerPoint sales presentations.
  • Strong organizational, relationship-building, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management and problem solving skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Citylitics experience a plus

Location: This position is remote at Austin.

Travel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
