Overview

EPE is seeking a strategic and technically accomplished Enterprise Architect to lead the design, governance, and delivery of enterprise-grade software and corporate technology solutions. This role will focus on modernizing internal platforms, integrating operational and business systems, and driving innovation across software development, cloud architecture, and digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

 

How you can make an impact:

 

Architecture & Strategy

  • Define and evolve enterprise architecture frameworks aligned with business objectives, compliance mandates, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Lead architectural design for scalable software platforms supporting OT systems and corporate services (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS, finance systems).
  • Ensure seamless integration across IT, OT, and business systems, including APIs, data pipelines, and cloud-native services.
  • Provide architectural leadership on digital transformation, cloud migration, and enterprise automation initiatives.
  • Represent EPE as a thought leader through whitepapers, blogs, and conference presentations focused on enterprise technology and innovation.

Program & Solution Delivery

  • Act as the technical authority across agile delivery teams, ensuring alignment with architecture vision and software engineering best practices.
  • Lead solution design reviews, validate technical feasibility, and oversee implementation across multiple concurrent enterprise software projects.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate operational needs into secure, scalable, and supportable software solutions.
  • Drive vendor and technology selection, including SaaS platforms, cloud providers, and development tools.
  • Champion innovation by integrating emerging technologies such as AI/ML, low-code platforms, and edge computing into EPE’s digital ecosystem.

Commercial & Go-to-Market Support

  • Partner with business development teams to identify and shape new opportunities in enterprise software and digital services.
  • Support sales efforts through technical leadership in client engagements, solution demos, and strategic proposals.
  • Lead technical content creation for RFPs and proposals, including architecture diagrams, solution narratives, and effort estimates.
  • Contribute to strategic hiring and team growth by attracting top-tier software architects and developers.

Leadership & Governance

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on enterprise technology strategy and investment.
  • Establish and enforce architecture governance processes, coding standards, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Mentor architects and developers across software and infrastructure teams.
  • Lead and manage a team of Enterprise Architects focused on corporate systems and software platforms.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Ensure all solutions comply with relevant cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and data privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with security teams to conduct risk assessments and define controls for enterprise applications and cloud environments.

Qualifications

Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture and software delivery within corporate or utility environments.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise platforms (ERP, CRM, HRIS), cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, GCP), and software development methodologies.
  • Strong background in systems integration, API design, microservices, and data platforms.
  • Experience with cybersecurity standards and resilience planning for enterprise systems.
  • Proven vendor and stakeholder management experience, including RFPs, solution evaluations, and contract oversight.

Location: This position will be located in Austin, Texas

Travel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
