Overview

The Sr. Director of Business Applications will play a pivotal role in shaping EPE’s technology landscape and enabling the company’s growth ambitions. This strategic leader will own and drive the implementation of Unit4 ERP, modernizing finance, accounting, billing, and project management processes, while building a scalable enterprise architecture to support ongoing business transformation. Reporting directly to the CIO, this role will partner with senior leadership to align technology initiatives with business priorities—while building and leading a global team of product owners and PMO professionals to ensure successful delivery and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

 

How you can make an impact:

 

ERP Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end implementation of Unit4 ERP, ensuring seamless deployment across finance, accounting, billing, and project management functions.
  • Drive business process optimization and change management to maximize ERP value.
  • Establish governance and reporting frameworks for ERP success metrics.

PMO Ownership & Delivery Excellence

  • Build and lead a Project Management Office (PMO) to standardize delivery practices, manage risk, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Define and enforce project governance, prioritization, and resource allocation.

Business Application Strategy

  • Develop and execute a roadmap for enterprise applications that support scalability and innovation.
  • Grow and manage onshore and offshore teams, including hiring and mentoring product owners and technical specialists.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective, high-quality delivery

 

Enterprise Architecture Thought Leadership

  • Shape and maintain a modern enterprise architecture aligned with business goals.
  • Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies and integration strategies, including AI and advanced analytics.

Technology Governance & Roadmap Execution

  • Define the future vision for help desk functionality
  • Identify and plan future system needs

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with leadership to align technology, business intelligence, and other IT organizations and business leadership team
  • Support operational priorities with integrated technology solution

Leadership & Development

  • Manage and coach team both onshore and offshore
  • Foster a high-performance IT culture and ensure excellence in implementation and operations

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience leading IT business applications in high-growth, mid-sized companies
  • Expert in ERP delivery—full lifecycle leadership across business case development, vendor selection, cutover, deployment, and hyper care
  • Proven track record of high-quality, on-time, on-budget solutions

Technical & Business Skills

  • Deep expertise in ERP systems (Unit 4 preferred), IT governance, data strategy, and integration
  • Ability to quickly learn business operations and proactively drive improvements across multiple functions
  • Experience supporting a remote workforce and integrating acquisitions on both application and infrastructure domains

Leadership & Soft Skills

Location: This position will be located in Austin, Texas

Travel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
