The Client Revenue Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate setup, billing, and revenue recognition of client projects. This role supports cross-functional collaboration between finance, sales, legal, and project management teams to streamline client onboarding, maintain billing compliance, and uphold revenue integrity in accordance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

How you can make an impact:

  • Coordinate the onboarding of new clients by collecting and validating required documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, tax forms (W-9/W-8), and billing contacts.
  • Set up new client accounts in the ERP/finance system, ensuring all billing, tax, and reporting fields are accurately completed.
  • Review contracts and Statements of Work (SOWs) to confirm billing terms, rates, and schedules.
  • Assist in conducting initial credit checks and obtaining necessary internal approvals.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of client credit limits, payment terms, and special billing requirements.
  • Monitor unbilled revenue and follow up with project managers to resolve missing approvals or documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (sales, legal, account management) to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely invoicing.
  • Set up projects, work orders, and billing schedules in the ERP system in alignment with ASC 606 and company policies.
  • Ensure project codes, billing rates, and charge types are properly established and aligned with approved contracts.
  • Partner with the Controller to ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies and internal controls.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for project setups and any subsequent amendments.

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in billing operations, revenue accounting, or financial systems.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and billing workflows.
  • Familiarity with ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Location: This position will be located in Austin, TX

Travel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
