Electric Power Engineers, Inc. (EPE) is seeking a Research & Development Engineer to support the innovation and advancement of software applications and tools for power system analysis and grid management. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and developers in shaping the future of energy through cutting-edge solutions.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties

 

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of software applications and tools for power system analysis and management.

  • Collaborate with staff engineers to develop algorithms for new software tools and products.

     

  • Participate in the integration and deployment of software solutions within the company.

     

  • Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing software applications.

     

  • Document software designs, technical specifications, and user manuals.

     

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python is mandatory. 
  • Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies (e.g., version control, object-oriented programming).
  • Basic understanding of power systems and electrical engineering principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.

 

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge of additional programming languages is a plus.
  • Experience with power systems simulation software is a plus.

Location: This position will be located in Panama City, Panama

Travel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
