The VP of Business Applications plays a critical role in EPE’s future by leading business applications strategy and execution, ensuring that technology supports the company’s scaling ambitions. This leader near-term focus will be to drive the implementation of an ERP (Unit 4) to modernize finance, accounting, billing, and project management processes while shaping a comprehensive enterprise architecture to support ongoing business transformation. The VP of Business Applications will report directly to the CEO, engage at the board level, and collaborate with senior leadership to align technology with business priorities—including AI integration, cybersecurity, and operational intelligence.

How you can make an impact:

  • ERP Leadership

    • Lead the delivery of a Unit 4 ERP implementation orchestrating project work across the functional lines of business

    • Ensure seamless deployment and business process optimization

  • Business Application Strategy

    • Build and Scale the IT function to support business growth

    • Deliver future system enhancements and enterprise applications

    • Align technology initiatives with business goals

    • Manage vendor relationships to successfully execute on the initiative and create strong partnerships
  • Enterprise Architecture Thought Leadership

    • Advise senior leadership on cutting-edge technology solutions

    • Enhance business performance through optimized enterprise architecture

  • Technology Governance & Roadmap Execution

    • Define the future vision for help desk functionality

    • Strengthen cybersecurity strategies to mitigate risks

    • Identify and plan future system needs

  • Cross-functional Collaboration

    • Partner with leadership to align technology, AI strategy, and business intelligence

    • Support operational priorities with integrated technology solutions

  • Project & Budget Management

    • Set IT priorities to ensure business-driven execution

    • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

  • Leadership & Development

    • Manage and coach IT leaders, and cross-functional teams

    • Foster a high-performance IT culture and ensure excellence in implementation and operations

 

Qualifications

Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field

  • 15+ years of experience leading IT business applications in high-growth, mid-sized companies

  • Expert in ERP delivery—full lifecycle leadership across business case development, vendor selection, cutover, deployment, and hyper care

  • Proven track record of high-quality, on-time, on-budget solutions

Technical & Business Skills

  • Deep expertise in ERP systems (Unit 4 preferred), enterprise architecture, IT governance, data strategy, and integration

  • Ability to quickly learn business operations and proactively drive improvements across multiple functions

  • Experience supporting a remote workforce and integrating acquisitions on both application and infrastructure domains

Location: This position will be located in Austin, TX

Travel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
