Overview

We are designing the grid of the future!

Be a part of an innovative team shaping the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence.  For more than half a century, Electric Power Engineers (EPE) has partnered with power and energy clients across the globe, providing consulting expertise and energy intelligence software solutions for complex engineering and grid modeling challenges. As leaders in the renewables space, we are focused on building a modern, secure, and resilient grid.   Join us in making an impact on the communities we serve and the environment in which we live. Together we can transform the future of energy.

Responsibilities

Join us in leading the change!

We are seeking an exceptional Vice President of Product Management with a deep understanding of software development processes and best practices, as well as a solid understanding of power system engineering as it relates to the electric grid and utilities industry and its adjacent sectors, such as telecom, gas, water, and other power grid ecosystem sectors that grid operators depend on to keep the grid reliable, resilient, affordable, sustainable, and safe. The ideal candidate must understand and have experience in software development, renewable integration, distributed energy resources (DER), grid modernization, and regulatory compliance in transmission and distribution utilities. As a key leadership team member, you will define and execute the product roadmap for our next-generation energy software solutions. You will collaborate closely with executive, engineering, finance, marketing, sales, and regulatory teams to address the energy industry's complex challenges and emerging opportunities.  This position reports to the SVP of Software Solutions.

How you can make an impact:

Strategic Leadership and Product Strategy: Define and drive the execution of the product strategy, vision, and roadmap to provide consulting services and software solutions that accelerate utilities' transition to renewables, DER integration, and grid modernization. Leveraging EPE's domain expertise to identify and capitalize on emerging opportunities.

Technological Innovation: Drive products to enable the innovation in DERMS, VPPs, Grid Twin, and other emerging energy solutions. Identify opportunities to develop software that will automate consulting processes or provide additional consulting services that were not possible without software tools.

Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, regulatory shifts, and customer needs to inform strategic product decisions and drive innovation.

Market Context and Opportunity Identification: Analyze market drivers, including DER adoption, electrification, and regulatory changes.

Identify Market Gaps: Address market gaps, including holistic grid planning, power flow simulations, and DER forecasting.

Product Definition and Solution Scope: Define integrated software solutions compatible with utility grid planning processes.

Product Roadmap and Development Priorities: Align product development with strategic goals and evolving customer needs.

Solution Design: Design solutions that facilitate the 'utilities' journey to net zero, optimize renewable integration, and enhance DER management and flexible grid operations.

Product Positioning: Position the product as the industry leader in integrated grid planning by leveraging EPE's domain expertise.

Go-to-Market Strategies: Craft go-to-market programs that solve our customers' problems (i.e., grid planning challenges and enabling customers to achieve decarbonization, decentralization, and digitization goals).

Investment Prioritization: Prioritize ' no-regrets' investments for foundational requirements and market needs.
