Responsibilities

How you can make an impact:

EPE is seeking an AI & Business Optimization Intern to explore how artificial intelligence can enhance our company’s efficiency. Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, this role involves conducting internal diagnostics, collaborating with department leads, and researching AI applications to drive business improvements. The intern’s findings will be shared with executive leadership to support data-driven decision-making and help shape organizational strategy. The ideal candidate is passionate about AI, business process optimization, and leveraging technology for efficiency. 

 

 

  • Work with Corporate Services Department SMEs and Operations leaders to identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements. 
  • Conduct internal diagnostics to assess current processes and systems. 
  • Perform internal and external research on AI applications in corporate operations. 
  • Develop and pilot recommendations on AI tools and methodologies to enhance efficiency, automation, and business intelligence. 
  • Support data collection and analysis efforts to improve operational decision-making. 
  • Assist in developing presentations and reports summarizing research findings and quantifying impact of proposed solutions.

Qualifications

Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:

 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong interest in AI, process optimization, and business intelligence. 
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and present findings clearly. 
  • Excellent research, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Experience with AI tools, machine learning models, or automation technologies is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with the energy or utility industry is a bonus but not required. 
  • A self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who thrives in cross-departmental collaboration, independently gathering insights and understanding corporate processes. 

 

Location: This position will be in person in Austin, TX. Start date for this position is May 27th, 2025 and will conclude on August 15th, 2025. The position is 40 hours a week.
