As a Senior/Principal Transmission Planning Engineer, you’ll be responsible for performing and leading advanced power system studies for utilities and ISOs in the USA West region. As a leader, you’ll also participate in meetings with clients, contribute to drafting proposals and Scope of works, and train junior staff.
How you can make an impact:
- Perform high-level bulk power system studies using various power systems software such as PSLF, TARA, DSA Tools, and Aspen.
- Perform generic and specialized studies of the power grid, such as generation interconnection studies, transmission system planning, remedial action evaluation, black-start studies, and sub-synchronous Resonance assessment.
- Develop mitigation plans for identified steady-state and dynamic constraints and system issues.
- Manage the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
- Interact with clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns with respect to the projects under study.
- Lead and train electrical engineers in performing power system analyses.
- Develop and review transmission planning study methodologies and processes.
- Participate in WECC Sub-Committees and promote the EPE brand.
- Lead process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and support business development activities.
