Electric Power Engineers, Inc. (EPE) works with clients on a global scale designing solutions for renewable energy (solar/wind/battery storage), Generation Interconnection, Transmission Planning, Distribution Planning, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), and Smart Grids.

How you can make an impact: 

The Distribution Intern will aid the distribution team in design and research. This position will report to an experienced Engineer and be exposed to exciting projects building valuable industry knowledge. Through this opportunity, the intern will gain hands-on experience and perform research in-line with study requirements. 

  • Research and create distribution design sketches per distribution design guidelines and standards   

  • Prepare new drawings utilizing AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Utility Design methods.  

  • Maintain accurate documentation of project correspondence and timelines 

  • Perform and/or check engineering calculations to determine and confirm design feasibility.  

  • Accurately and proficiently communicate design and construction details through drawings 

  • Overall support of the distribution team  

Qualifications

Bring your passion, here what’s needed:

  • Actively pursuing a degree (Bachelor's or grad) during the time of the internship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university.
    • Senior a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge in AutoCAD 
  • Experience with utility design 
  • Completion of, or current enrollment in, power systems fundamentals class(es) (strongly preferred) 
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher  

 

Location: Spring internships will be conducted remotely. Position is part time, in which hours should not exceed more than 20 a week.
